Hoang Nguyen is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical and Construction Engineering. Prior to joining Northumbria, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the School of Engineering, University of Glasgow where he worked on the fracture analyses of graphite bricks in UK nuclear power plants within a project funded by EDF Energy. Before that, Hoang finished his PhD at Northumbria University where his work focused on the numerical prediction of mechanical behaviours of functionally graded microstructures by means of generalised continua and isogeometric analysis.
